There have been several reports recently on the bendability of the new smartphones produced by Apple (iPhone 6 & iPhone 6+).
This has left many people wondering if these are all just rumors, or if in fact the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is susceptible to bending.
According to theguardian.com, the fears of bending iPhones are “overblown”.
They have reported that, “although the new iPhone 6 & 6 Plus phones are more susceptible to bending when compared to the iPhone 5, the new iPhone should hold up for normal everyday use”. They also stated that the HTC one M8 is actually less durable when performing the bend test when comparing it to the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.
It appears that the bending issue doesn’t seem as urgent to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, as it was initially reported. At Cell Clinic Vancouver, we haven’t yet seen any cases of this bending issue for the new iPhones. Although saying that, as iPhones get bigger and thinner, it is only natural for them to become more fragile and bendable. We recommend that you do get yourself a phone case for your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus if you are worried about it bending from everyday use, as that will give your new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus some more support.
